This cap is the original replacement cap for all 1986-1988 Vanagons.

Note! VW released a superior design in 1989 () that features an integrated grounding shield. We recommend you purchase that cap instead of this one, and discard the metal shield and ground wire that surrounds your existing distributor. Regardless of which one you buy, the are required, and sold separately.
